Tianna Davidson (2006) Returns to Scarborough RFC with Renewed Passion and Ambition

Scarborough, May 13, 2026 — Scarborough Rugby Football Club (RFC) is thrilled to announce the return of Tianna Davidson, a prominent player known for her dynamic role as an eight-man and back row in the scrum, to the Scarborough “Aces“. Having progressed from a junior to a senior player, Tianna is excited to rejoin the team that inspired her early rugby career.

Reflecting on the decision, Tianna shared, “The main reason I decided to return to the Scarborough RFC Aces from being a junior into senior is because as a junior, I was constantly surrounded by many of the senior women and they just were so confident, and they looked so strong and really inspiring. I wanted to be a part of that team going up.”

Davidson is an alumna of David and Mary Thomson Collegiate Institute and chose to pursue undergraduate studies at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), motivated by their top-rated professional communications program and the opportunity to minor in sports marketing. While studying full-time, she also played rugby XV for the university.

At TMU, Tianna honed her work ethic, which she intends to bring back to Scarborough RFC, “because it takes a team to score tries and defend your goal line. And every little bit matters,” she stated.

This summer, Davidson is focused on enhancing her rugby skills and fitness levels, aiming to return to university and future rugby seasons in peak condition. “Something I’m looking really forward to this summer is really improving my rugby skills and becoming more fit and athletic,” she said.

Numerous role models in the Scarborough community have shaped Tianna’s journey in sports. She credits her high school rugby coach, Linda Manzo, and phys ed teacher, Jennifer Kil, for their influential roles in her life. “[Jennifer] was such a big inspiration to me, and why I like coaching rugby and helping out youth and young women in general, learning about sports and getting active, because she was a big part of pushing me to be active, pushing me to be out there.” Additionally, she draws inspiration from fellow Senior Aces, including Petra Woods, Natalie Tam, Geneviève Promesse, Fedelia Omoghan, and Zoey Siciliano.

Scarborough RFC is proud to support Tianna’s rugby growth and looks forward to her contributions both on and off the field as she continues to inspire future generations of female-identifying rugby players.
